Winchester Cathedral's bells welcomed Hampshire's soldiers and sailors as they gathered in the Broadway for their march through the city on Tuesday.
Afterwards, while they were being entertained in the Great Hall, ringers from the Winchester & Portsmouth Diocesan Guild of Church Bell Ringers, including members of the cathedral band, rang a quarter peal of 1259 changes of Grandsire Caters in their honour, requiring nearly one hour of continuous ringing to do so, conducted by Tony Smith.
